My power brick just fell maybe four feet onto carpet and bounced.

I hadn't expected the other side of the cord to be so loose (not gonna happen again), but should I be worried about the brick at all?

Plus, how sturdily attached is the screen?

the power supplies are very rugged, the only thing that seems to go wrong is the wiring near the DC jack can break from stress.

Screen is held by two hindges, they do tend to lossen with time.

Hmmm...something occurred to me while looking at my old HP adapter that the cord on there, once plugged into the adapter's other side, is very tightly held, almost like it's just sealed in.

But on my m17x one, I bump it and the cord might come out slightly! (Hence the slipping from my hands. This is the half that has the wall plug.)

Is anyone elses this loose/am I not plugging it hard enough/should I consider a replacement for it?

Mine isn't loose but isn't exactly glued in either. You can wiggle it a bit and it doesn't take a body builder to seperate it but it should be nice and snug.

    Ah, thanks for the input.

I tried the adapter again to push it inside and it went all the way in this time. Don't know how I didn't notice that before. o_O

Hope it didn't do anything to the computer that my adapter wasn't plugged in all the way for a few hours.

It shouldn't have, typically you'll see one of three things if it might do damage in this situation sparks, smoke, or flames. If you didn't see one of those things and it's working now the worst you should have is a discharged battery.
