Do you guys have dust under screen?? I had only a tiny spot of dust when I received it.. that didn't bother me much... but day by day its increasing... today when I opened my lappy the amount of dust under screen has been considerably increased... the plastic sheet is not flush on my M17x, its slightly protruding on the right hand side, towards the bottom (if I press it in hard, it stays for a while)..... also i get smudge marks of the mouse pad on my screen (i tried to put a microfibre in between but that again attracted more dust)... I really dont think the rubber bush on the hand rest has enough height ... its like a mm tall..has anyone opened the lcd panel to clean the dust off?? on one hand I am tempted to do it but on a second thought I am thinking I should wait until it gets really unbearable and call in for a replacement ( I really dont want to btw)...

i think the screen and front plastic/glass is one piece, so you really can't get in between them to clean it. your best bet is calling deal and getting a replacement screen.

This is one PITA issue that i'm having too all the time. I was stupid to have them replaced the screen, because the plastic cover pops out of aluminum lid now....and i have to open it all up to screw them tightly together. For dust issue behind screen, put some good cusshion infront of the area and snap your finger at it to kick the dust back.

I ran in to someone in class (college) who had an M17x (cool I was not the only one). he had a dog hair under the screen cover. he used "googone" to take the screen cover off, and removed the hair. he then used cheep glue to put the protector back on. looks good as new, and cant tell it was ever off.

That is quite an undertaking. Your friend is brave. I guess that's one way of doing it.

    One more thing.
What do you guys use to clean the screen?
I used the Dell XPS cloth that came with my M1730 but I shocked that it left 3 small scuffs in my screen which is permanent.
That's really weird. I thought it was some dust but later I could feel it when I run my fingers though it.

I bought a felt cloth that goes between my keyboard and LCD every time I close it. I was getting scuffs on the LCD in certain spots from it rubbing on the keyboard during transport. Unless your cloth had something foreign on it, that shouldn't have happened.
