    I've search but found nothing.

I just installed Windows 8 on my R4 using all the win 8 drivers from Dell Support. Everything works fine but the eject button.
Have they came up with a fix for this yet? Or has anyone posted a fix that I missed?

    Thank You.

Edit. Called tech support and they said it was an issue with the drivers and a new one should be released in 2-4 weeks.

I have my M17xR4 Laptop closed all the time, and use external Monitor, Keyboard and Mouse. I did not want to open and close the lid everytime I want to eject a disc.

So I went online and searched for an DVD Eject Tool. You download it and simply pin it to your Taskbar next to the Start button.

It works great for me and it is a quick one click process.

My eject button works fine but my dvd drive doesnt even read in my bios. :p not windows 8's fault though. The eject button is hard-wired or bios controlled internally. my eject works in windows or linux or the bios. It is not driver controlled at all so i think you have a hardware issue.
I have absolutely zero issues with windows 8 other that the new bull**** "metro interface". It's a terrible idea!
Other than that my R4 has been the coolest laptop I have ever owned and windows 8 is fast and smooth.

yes this has been the solution..sometimes even after restart everything is ok.

    UPdate....Guess What?

It doesnt work on mine too...and I can confirm it is not hardware issue because it works when you restart including while in bios etc but when windows kicks in it stops working. Windows 8 or Dell Software drivers are definitely the culprit. If it was hardware the button wont work under any phase of the system.

Perhaps some of you may have answers or shed more light on this matter.
