Intel Wireless Display may not work with M17x R3, R4 with 3D (120Hz) Built in Screens. This happens because the Intel HD Graphics Card has been disabled and it is a required component for Intel WiDi to operate, for this you may require to switch to Wireless HD (WiHD) technology or acquire a WiDi External Emmiter and Receiver .
If you own a M18x R1, R2 with Dual Graphic Cards you may need to switch to the integrated Intel Graphics card by pressing the key combination FN+F7 on you keyboard.
1. Make sure your Intel HD graphics driver is up to date. ( Link)
Enabling Wireless Display (WiDi) on Windows 8:
2. Download the latest Intel Wireless ProSet driver and software. ( Link)
3. Download the latest WiDi software. ( Link)
4. After installing the WiDi software, run it and you should find your WiDi adapter. Connect to it, and it will show you a Device Pairing screen. Enter the 4-digit security code you see on your TV screen, and press continue.
5. The Windows Add a device screen will show up, asking you to Choose a device or printer to add to this PC. Click on IntelWiDiAdapter, and click Next.
6. A new Window will show asking you to Enter the WPS PIN for your television. An 8-digit number may be already showing. Make sure the number is the same as the one you see on your television, and click Next.
7. All done, if you need to update the firmware of the adapter keep scrolling down![]()
1. If there's any firmware updates available click Update; files will be copied to your WiDi adapter, and your WiDi adapter will soon start updating itself and then restart.

2. After the adapter restarts and shows that it is ready to accept connections, connect to it again using the Intel WiDi software. The Device Pairing screen will show up again. Click continue.
3. The Windows Add a device screen will show up again, asking you to Choose a device or printer to add to this PC. Click on the device that shows the name of your WiDi Adapter.
4. An 8-digit number will show on your television. Enter this number into the Add a device Window and click Next. You should be connected now.
