I occassionaly connect my lapt top to my TV for presentations etc. which was never an issue with my last laptop. When connected to the VGA port and using the FN+f6, my TV does not see the laptop connected. I can use my wife's Sony no problem, so I know the port works on the TV.

Does anyone have a simple solution? Any assistance is appreciated.

Did you change the display setting to either external monitor or multiple monitors?

Yes. I've changed settings to multiple monitors and duplicate the display and can see the SONY TV listed as a display option. However, my TV will only make the input available if it sees something connected. In short I can see the TV from my laptop but my TV does not see the laptop.
I would say this would be a TV issue if I connected oterh laptops with the same result. But other laptops connect with no problem.
I've also had this same issue at work when connected to projectors. It's a laptop issue or a VGA port or configuration issue.
