    Hi all,

I am about to purchase an M17xR4, and wanted to opt for the 7970m - for the performance out of this, it seems you really can't knock the price. :D

From reading around however, it seems people really aren't sold on the Enduro system. Is it really THAT terrible - and does it make a huge difference?

    Many thanks!

Don't even worry you can always turn off Enduro. You can not beat the price on 7970m.

Yeah - just seems a shame to turn off something that's built to enhance the performance... lol! Perhaps it'll get better in time - but thanks for the advice :)

Enduro can be disabled. It's Nvidia's Optimus that you should look out for.

Incorrect. Enduro was meant to maximize battery life savings with the dedicated GPU on. It's not a performance feature. The GPU is extremely powerful by itself. With Enduro, you can save power by using the internal Intel GPU or maximize performance with the AMD GPU (which doesn't happen due to the Enduro issue), but to avail that, one simply has to turn Enduro off in the Alienware M17x R4 to get your 7970M rocking!

Plus, we have to see what 12.11 is going to give us. The speculation sounds good.
