    Hi all.

Have been toying with the idea of a larger external display for my lappy. Been looking at a Samsung LD220HD. Its 22" 1920x1080. Also can double as a TV as has the inputs for those too.

    Couple of noobish questions are:

    1. Obviously the lappy is equipped with a Displayport "port" so is this in any way better than just using a HDMI to HDMI lead?

    2. Do I need a secondary lead for sound? (the monitor does have a speaker) or is sound carried via HDMI / Displayport leads?

    3. Guess most importantly, do external monitors work well with the M17xR2? - have read about some people having problems.

Any advice or info gratefully received.

Oh, and if anyone knows anything about the particular Samsung I am looking at, that would be great!

    Cheers! :D

I don't use external display but I use a Vivitek H1808FD (you should go this route too :D)

    1. HDMI all the way!!!

    2. HDMI will carry sound. My projector has built-in speaker and it does playback the sound. So again, HDMI all the way!!!

    3. It will work just fine (I don't know about display with higher res than M17x display but since your Samsung is 1920x1080 that's not a problem)
