Ok, I have two Nvidia GTX 260m cards running FFXIV in SLI. (yes I have the new 260.89 drivers that came out today that have the FFXIVGame.exe profile) When I am running FFXIV I can see (with Nvidia tools) that my GPU usage is around 55-65% and never over that (when in populated arias it goes down to 25-35% I guess that is my biggest concern). My CPU usage is 85-99% so... I was thinking is there a way to get 85-99% usage out of both my video cards, and why is the usage so low in the first place? Oh, and why in populated places dose it drop down even more?

Crossfire utilisation for AMD cards also seems rather inconsistent.

From my understanding it is a combination of a very poorly optimised game client in conjunction with less than adequate drivers.

I can't comment on nVidia drivers specifically but fiddling with some of the settings in the ATI Catalyst Control Center, FFXIV Config and FFXIV in-game yielded greatly improved FPS for me. (20-30 in Limsa Loninsa, close to a constant 60 outside Limsa Lominsa which drops to 20-30 in camps).

I made a post with my settings in one of the FFXIV threads however some users were not able to attain the performance increases that I did.

Yup the game is very buggy and needs quite a bit of work and patches to be done. AMD and Nvidia drivers will also need quite a bit of work to start running the game properly. You could try renaming the FF exe to crysis and see if it picks up the game to utilise SLi better however other than that just gonna have to wait for patches and more driver updates.

    Cheers. :)

The Nvidia 260.89 drivers (just came out today) run the game just a bit better than the "Crysis" fix, so that is out of the question. So... Damn, I got a game that was not ready to be released... Curse you SE for releasing the game before it was ready... "Cruse You...!"
