    Darkloki,

Did you try them with your single 6970m card? Do you get BSOD on that as well as your 5870s?

I can't bring myself to try them yet in case it bricks things.

From amd site once dowloaded the installer, it will download 11.10 and not 11.11... even if the installer should be for 11.11. Maybe they are doing something about it and removed the driver from being downloaded meanwhile?

    Edit: i'm using 11.11 cap1 with 11.10 whql.

BF3 runs very smooth, 1920x1200, everything on ultra, AA 2X, AF 16X, HBAO, skyrim is the same, have to alt tab every time a new area/dungeon/inn/etc.. is loaded in order to get CF to work properly, even so it run butter smooth when crossfire works properly and i get 99.6% on both gpu's, besides the 42 hours and counting of gameplay :D.

Then I'll try this new CAP 11.11 with my 11.10 drivers, but will keep out of updating to 11.11 whql...
Anyway I'm pretty satisfied with the performance on BF3 so I prefer to stay out of trouble and BSOD :)

Is there anything official from AMD acknowledging this problem? This is not a minor thing the official WHQL driver to BSOD your system

I have the 11.11 drivers installed as of 11pm last night and no BSOD so far.

I didnt do anything special to make it work either...although, I DID NOT do a clean install...just installed on top of 11.10, maybe thats the difference??

Edit: On a side note, I saw no performance gain whatsoever with these drivers and CAP updates. In fact, I still feel like the game runs better with crossfire off. Lame.

After re-reading this, I went and checked and indeed, I still have driver version 11.10 installed. Went and downloaded again and despite it saying its "11.11" on the AMD website, once I download and install it, it installs 11.10. Even more stupid...what the hell AMD??

Ugh, I wish I had read this thread before trying to install 11.11

This is the second time an ATI update has trashed my computer, whether from a clean install after removing the previous update or trying to update over the previous one. Windows bootloops to BSOD until the drivers are removed with Driver Sweeper. Back to 11.10 and everything is golden again. At least it didn't wreck my registry like the update that failed last year >.>

On my PC it's like this. Cat 11.11 work fine, but if I select the CAP1 for 11.11 (inside the setup when choosing Custom), it will BSOD. Also only CAP1 for 11.11 standalone installation will BSOD my rig. Going to try now CAP2 11.11 :)

Ok, so I dont get it. When you go to the official amd site and download the latest driver, are you downloading 11.10 or 11.11? The site says its 11.11, but the file once downloaded says its 11.10 and after install in CCC it says its 11.10??? Anyone have any clarification on this? Cause if I get Skyrim to run better, I wouldnt complain.

I mean, while I am not having all these BSOD problems like some of you are, I still wouldnt mind a little improved performance. So if anyone has any info, please share, as I am totally confused as to what is actually happening with my driver right now??

EDIT: Ok, so after reading what i wrote and realizing how insane it sounded despite having done it twice, I went back again and downloaded the file again. This time it actually said I was downloading 11.11 and BSOD'ed during install. Lamesauce AMD.

So now after a clean install of 11.10 with 11.11CAP2...game actually seems to be running better. Hope they get that mess all cleared up soon, as in the release notes for CAP2 it makes no mention of Skyrim specifically...and the driver is obviously an epic fail as well.

So if the definition of insanity (per Einstein) is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results...then what does it mean if you do it 3 times and get a different result on the third try??

Regarding BSOD. Make custom installation of Cat11.11 (select custom in setup) and de-select the Application Profile. The driver should install fine then. Afterward download CAP2 for 11.11 and install that one.

Just to throw another wrench into the mix~

    Starting config -
Clean install Win7, Dell Driver installed, 11.10 Updated, 11.9 CAP2 installed.

    Updated config
    Starting config > 11.11 Updated, 11.11 CAP2 installed.

My PC never BSOD'd going to 11.11 like it did in the starting config going from Dell Driver to 11.10. This time I got the screen flash a few times then the PC rebooted unexpectedly (BSOD may have happened I just didn't see it??). Either way, after the reboot I did the same exact thing that I did when I updated to 11.10 from the Dell Driver. I had to finish the 11.11 install after the crash, and it installed successfully. Then I had to uninstall the Intel HD Graphics from Device Manager and reboot. On the following reboot, the Intel HD Driver install Failed, rebooted again, this time I go into Device Manager and the Intel HD Graphics driver and Radeon 6990M both had exclamation points and I went to properties on the Intel HD Graphics and it said it needed to reboot the PC. I had it reboot. On the following reboot, the resolution was correct and both drivers were functional.

Installed 11.11 CAP2 afterwards, on the reboot, it seemed that once it got to the Windows login screen it rebooted unexpectedly again (?? not positive on this). Then once it finally got back to the login screen, everything seems fine. Vantage runs without issues though not really seeing any major improvement in scores, so YMMV, unless you need this driver for a game, it doesn't appear to be a major improvement over 11.10 IMO.

BSOD for me as well. Also tried on a clean Win 7 64 sp1 install and got the same result. Deselecting application profiles from the install options had no effect.

Yeah, sadly, no dice for me either. Sigh, I hope this doesnt turn into a long term problem like when I first got my m17x R2 and found out after several months that I needed a VBIOS update for my cards in order for them to work with the ATI Reference drivers. I just want to download my new ATI drivers every month or so and have it work.

While in safe mode, disable your video cards, reboot into normal windows, uninstall the ati drivers.
