    Hi guys.

The other day I saw an M17x. It looked like my R3 but I'm not familiar with the differences in versions.

It had the ability to logon to Windows with facial recognition software. I don't have this software but my M17xR3 was a factory second & didn't come with all the software & drivers installed so I did it myself.

I'm hoping this software should have come on my M17xR3 & I can grab it from somewhere. I'm not sure what it's called though.

    Thanx for looking.

Hi, I don't believe it was ever included on the R3. I checked this out some time ago and from what I read dell dropped it because it was more trouble than it was worth, so I never went any further in trying to track a copy down :(

Also abit of a security flaw. Nothing stopping people holding an tablet to it with your picture.

Trust me I tried it :D

It was removed when the generation changed from the R2 to the R3. Sorry about the inconveniences.

While I admit that it was a bit gimmicky (in my opinnion) I must admit that I like the coolness factor of it. As said above from a security standpoint I don't know how secure it is, but it was a little extra bling with my R2. Sorry that it was removed with the more recent editions.

    Tried this?

EDIT: Tried it myself, actually works rather well with little intrusion on the logon screen. Tested on Windows 8.
