Just start the other day, every time when I turn on the laptop, one of the fans is making some sort of little grinding noise, I believe the sound come out from the left side video card, but after I am using the computer for hours the sound stop.
    What I should do?
I still have warranty on the laptop, but before to spend hours on the phone with the support dept. of dell, I preferred to hear opinions or comments

    Regards

Faulty fan, it should come out separately and you can easily replace it yourself (assuming Dell sends the part)

Same thing down to it stopping after a short period following startup happened to me on a desktop GPU.

I had a similar problem too with my old M1710. The fan is going out. Just like yours, I would get a very intermittent rattling and whirring for a while, but then it might stop completely for 30 minutes or more. It would always eventually return, and then the periods during which it was quiet would get gradually shorter. It would also vary in tone, such that it could be "rattles", then "burbles", then "hums", whatever. It should be a simple fix if you get the part.

    the grinding noise is louder!
I need to call Dell support now or I have to wait until the fan stop?

Call NOW. Its literally like a $5 fan. You don't want to risk your system taking heat damage for a $5 fan, do you?

Yeah Serch, like X says, get your fix on ASAP. It's only going to get worse, and when it finally goes for real, then things will get expensive, like you may blow a GPU.

Might be there the sticker (square about the size your pinky fingernail) on the video card(s) face pointing to the fan. I pulled that off (both) and it went away. Basically the sticker can get pulled down (a part of it) when fan was blowing and hitting the blades spinning. Simple procedure (there are youtube videos showing how) to open it up and move those stickers. Plus you can clean your fan vents. Bonus.

Yeah, don't wait man. I called at the first signs of trouble. The tech came and replaced all three of my fans, so that was nice.

It was happening to my left video card fan, they sent the fan and i replaced it myself. Now 2 days ago, the same thing started happening to my right fan... going to call dell again and tell them to send me another fan... probably also the CPU fan so i dont need to call them again for that :/

    damn these fans!

See if the grill is not bent and the fan doesn't touch anything!
