    Hey everyone

After having my m17x for a week now, I'm nerves about something.

The right side graphics cards fan does a strange sound. When the computer is under heavy loading or if i play a game for like 1-2 hours, it start to make a sound if there was something stuck or if the fan didn't have space enough. It isn't very loud but it is noticeable. Have tried some furmarks and the tems are fine they are the same as when i got the computer.

I have never tried to open a labtob this much to look after what the problem is (if there is one) But after what i have heard it is like piece of cake with the right tool.

It's a common issue, and many people experience it, including myself. Essentially it's defective bearings in the fan, most have reported that a replacement fixes the problem, so I would assume that a new version of the fan is available. Just call up 1800-alien ware and tell them you need a new right side GPU fan.

^^ Yep. Best to get it replaced, just be careful with the XFire cable.

My system shipped with a defective right GPU fan as well. Luckily I had a few spare M17x's laying around so I swapped them out. Dell needs to start buying higher quality fans for these.

nope.. it's not going to fly off and hit something..

the cpu fan is a hydraulic delta fan iirc, which is good stuff, can't remember what the manufacturer of the GPU fans is. It does tell you that they're only 8CFM though lol
