So I recently swapped my GPU to a HD 7970m (New xbracket and everything) Now I noticed the fan isnt running at all. I attempted at using things like Speedfan and MSI Afterburner, but it seems the fan is just not being picked up by anything. This has been happening ever since I switched my GPU.

    Laptop model? Drivers? BIOS version?

In Speedfan, did you tun on dell motherboard support? (I know there is a setting for it, I don't know if it affects fan control)

I had this also on time and finding out later I forget to connect the cable xD.

What version of the 7970M you have bought?
I heard that CLevo models can make the fan stop.... but really don't know for sure.

this is from eurocom who are notorious for giving people the wrong card for their laptop...ie., you've got a sager 7970 with the wrong vbios. contact the seller and make sure that you got a Dell card with the Dell vbios...that's the first thing I would check.

And another check is that when you put your old card back in, does the fan work?

I really cant put the fan back in atm since I had a friend do it for me just in case (Hes going to be away for a while so I cant). I just got into PC's and the components and all that so I am a noob. And the seller might take a long time to respond to so in the sake of saving time, say it is a dell card with a dell vbios, what else could be the problem?

    [Edit 1]
Actually I looked at all of his post and Alll of his listings are clevo laptops...So Im assuming that this is actually a clevo bios. So what can I do now?

Either try a vbios but that might void the warranty with the seller.

I would suggest get it replaced with a correct dell card.

Slim chance, but if it is the correct card you might want to ensure that the fan wires were not pulled out of the connector. I've seen it happen once or twice where someone pulls on the wires to disconnect the fan from the motherboard and one of the wires comes out of the connector ...slim chance, but you never know.

I highly doubt that its the wires thing because like I said, the fan spins until the bios is loaded from the computer.

You can try flashing it with a DELL vBios but if it's a Clevo card I would suggest to have it replaced with a DELL one. That could be the issue.
