    Feasible upgrades for M17x

    Looking to upgrade this laptop and need information on what it is capable of upgrading too.

    Motherboard: m17x nForce 730i
    CPU: Core 2 Duo T9600 2.8Ghz
    Memory: (Stock) DDR3 4GB PC3-10600 -8GB Gskill upgrade is in the mail
    HD: Samsung SSD pm800
    Video: GeForce GTX260m single

    I am looking for the best available upgrades right now.

    Starting with the cpu could you verify my information. That the best upgrade would be to go to a QX9300?

    Would dual 280m be the best way to go on the video card?

    Last question being about the hard drive, would raid 0 two ssd be best? what drives would you suggest?

    I know some of it may be opinionated but that is okay with me. Also any suggestions or questions feel free.

    Afaik QX9300 is the best CPU upgrade that is compatible with your machine.

    I believe (not sure 100%) that you can even upgrade your video card to single/dual 6970/6990m. But i would wait for some R1 owner to chime in about it.

    Hello, eifaen and welcome to NBR.

    The QX9300 is the best CPU you can fit inside your M17x.
    The best confirmed nVIDIA cards are the GTX 280M and GTX 285M.
    On the AMD side, you have the mobility 5870 as best option, they were confirmed functional both single and crossfire.
    The 6970 and 6990 are not (yet) tested.
