So, I got my new laptop (replacement) and have been playing with it. Decent system though totally not worth the issues I've had to deal with in getting it and such (so far if my math is correct, I am out of pocket an aditional $1300 or so even when having purchased the extended warranty).

Whenever I shut the screen laptop screen, it locks up. I open up the laptop and well...the screen is activated but nothing happens. I can't turn off or on the external lighting, do caps lock..anything. I have to do a hard reset. This doesn't occure if I have an external monitor hooked up though.

I've been through my sleep settings and all that jazz. I have everything turned off so when I shut the screen, nothing should happen. No games or anything running in the background. Any ideas?

    Hi chauffeurtim7,

Try updating the video driver, follow the steps in this article for a clean driver install, I would also recommend running a PSA to check for memory errors, click here for more info.
