Hi , Somewhat happy owner of a great laptop

Ive owned this M17R2 for about 1/2 year and its been pretty decent. H  WEVER. Im having problems. The current issue is that

    >>> If I unplug the ac adapter from the back while in normal windows then re insert the ac plug into the back the laptop will completely freeze after about 2 secs forcing me to hard power down  <<<

    Specs-
    i7 1.73ghz ( bios A10 )
    8gb ddr3
    Dual 5870s (ccc 11.6 )
A Fresh new install of Win7 Home edition not tampered with at all.

Now I have tried a few things.
-If I'm in safe mode this problem does not occur.
-I have updated all the drivers.
-I have tried to disable the AlienFusion
-I have disabled the Alienware OSD
-I have set the hard drives in raid 1 then 0 which currently is back in 0 form

I'm at a loss  This is the most buggy 2k laptop I've ever owned. And the only.

MAKE ME LOVE THIS AGAIN PLEASE

I guess this isn't going to be a simple fix from the lack of replies?

    5870 VBIOS

Do you have the new VBIOS flashed to your graphics cards? I'm pretty sure that's what eliminated your issues. If you already have it installed, then I don't know what to say.

Well , we have a curve ball it appears. I tried to install the vbios you mentioned. It gives me a little pop up window with the following 3 lines of text.

" This VBIOS update is intended only for the following video card: "
    " ATI mobility Radeon HD 5870 "
"The update cannot be preformed on this system. "

Now I know I have dual 5870s In the photo it shows the specs. Now technically it never does say 5870 rather 5800 series ? So?

Most likely going to need to do a manual flash to both cards there should be a write up on here just search it.

    Manual VBIOS Flash

It kind of sucks, and is scary if you've never done it. It will fix your problems though.

Alright Ive gotten about 90% of the Manual bios flashed. Im pretty confident so I gave it a try. I get to the dos screen and type my command "atiflash -p 0 dellb0.rom" then I get "exiting due to signal SIGILL invalid opcode" followed by about 20 lines of error codes. Would it be step 3 in the red text from the tutorial? I dont know if I have the 8.763 drivers or something higher ?

SO CLOSE guys I can feel this being a better laptop already.

    UPDATE <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

I changed the atiflash verison to a previous one. IT kinda worked. Now when I type my command it waits a second then says
    "ADAPTER NOT FOUND"
    "PRESS 1 TO CONTINUE"
