    Flashing Eurocom AMD 7970 card to Dell Alienware 7970, is this done and is it easy?

    I have a small question:
    An acquaintance of mine bought a AMD 7970m from Eurocom to use in a Clevo P170EM but it does not seem to work.
    He has a BTO P170EM and i guess that the difference in bios would be the bad guy here.

    He offered the card to me for €200,00 if i wanted it, but i have a Alienware M17x R2 and it would NOT be plug and play.

    So my question is:
    Is it even possible to flash to Clevo 7970 to an Alienware 7970..?

    I have read some forums where it as where others say that it cannot...
    I hope someone here can tell me if it can or cannot be done.

    EDIT:
    I found several threads (on TechInferno) that state, that it CAN be done.....i just need to find the right vBIOS for my Alienware M17x R2....make a bootable usb stick....use the forced command line function and it should be done??......is it really that simple?

    I hope someone can help out here.
    There is a person on TechInferno that calls himself: "svl7" but i can't PM him because i need to have a minimum amount of posts and i don't want to spam the forum just for PM.

    Since most of us are also registered on TechInferno, maybe you can help me out in this delicate situatiion:thumbsup:

    There are plenty of threads that explain how you have to flash, especially on techinferno :D, its easy but you could brick your gpu(small chance tho)

    I would be very careful about this. tried it myself and could not swap the vbioses

    Well i already came from TechInferno and they said: for Dell it's plug and play.
    Only reason i would need to flash is for undervolting or overclocking.

    Compatibility wise there is no need to flash, even though it's a Clevo branded card.
    I am testing the card tommorow so i am pretty psyched :)

    When asked about hdmi support or fan control the answers were not so certain... :(

    I read some where that only one person succeeded in getting HDMI out to work.

    Fan control is more important to then HDMI

    Well as it turns out, it was a hoax....the card was scratched and crap and yet he ensisted that i by his card.
    So i told him to back off....he didn't listen so i snapped his card 2 times. :mad2:

    He was so shocked so i left him with his rubbish
