Just wanted to know, has anyone gotten their m17x recently. My system was back ordered and when it arrived today, after playing around with it awhile, i opened up cpu-z and noticed something strange. I ordered my system with the 2860QM (the best you can order) and upon looking at cpu-z i noticed it said 2920XM. Has anyone noticed this? Is it a glitch or maybe dell helped me out for the delay?

    Regards,
    Howard

Holy crap serious?! They don't even offer that CPU as an option. Must have run out and they sourced one from the M18x.

    Nice!

No fooling man. I was stunned when it said 2920XM lol. Wish it has the i7 Extreame sticker though :p

Im thinking that was a glitch. Just checked via HWinfo 64 and it says 2860QM :/ Would have been awesome if they put a 2920XM in this beast :p

it is a common issue with CPU-z reporting the 2860 as a 2920. The only way to really know is to see if you can change the multiplier on the CPU.

I have a 2860 as well. If you look about half way down CPU-Z, you'll see that it is in fact an 2860. I don't know why CPU-Z reports at the tops that its a 2920. I believe it is because the 2860 and 2920 have the same stock regular and turboboost speeds.
