I am curious how to work this tool.
Since there are 2 devices do I just set both to be the exact same when clocking up?
right now
Engine Clock: 250
Memory Clock: 200
Whats a good stock fan/heatsink setting to run them on?

there's a checkbox that says "same clock settings for all devices"
I'm not sure what you mean by fan/heatsink setting though. The fans are not adjustable, but they do fine on their own. You can replace the thermal paste on the GPU if you want, but the 4870's run pretty cool as they are. When i had my overvolted and clocked at the speeds in my sig, even Furmark xtreme burn in didn't get them over 80C. At 600/1000, which is what i usually game with, only one of them even hits 70C and it doesn't seem to go above that.
One thing you definitely want to do though, is prop up the back edge of the laptop, this lowered my temps considerably.
Another thing about using the clock tool to OC, is that the GPU's wont return to their lower speed settings after you're done playing a game, you have to reset them manually. Once you find a stable OC setting, id recommend just flashing the GPU's this way you don't have to mess with it everytime. -

I wouldn't do any OCing without some form of alternate cooling. Here's a guide to flash your VBIOS. Alienware M17x w/ATi 4870 info thread! ...
