Hey I was wondering if there is a tool or program that will tell me the temperature of my graphics card(s). I tried googling a bit but really didn't find anything so I'm asking here.

I use Rivatuner Monitoring gadget and Coretemp Gadget you have to download Rivatuner and have it run in the Background and Coretemp as well here is a pic (also you have to edit the Rivatuner.CFG file so that the 4870 can be identified here is the identifying tag you put in the R770 section 945AH)

Unfortunately Not didn't know you had 5870's but GPU-z will work fine and eventually Rivatuner will support it but untill then GPU-Z or there is another GPU monitoring gadget That works on my Desktop 5870 so it might work for the mobile version not sure

@mirito 80'C is a danger zone higher than that is bad for the card 90's are no good at all.
@DannyDanger GPu-Z is a great program used that up untill i found that one in the pic.

80s is hardly considered a danger zone, even low 90s is fine. Any higher than 94 and I'd be worried.

the AMD clock tool works fine.

Also, for me at least, propping up the back of the laptop with the edge of a book or something similar helped lower my GPU temps significantly. My 4870's were maxing out in the high 70's but once i propped the back up i've yet to see them go over 70C

Low 90's is not fine for an ATI card The max Thermal limits are 100'c. Personally anything above 85 is a bit hot and while still in thermal limits I'd let my laptop take a rest. optimal is in the 60's or low 70's.
Also you have to remember that Dell might have reduced that thermal limit so it might be 85-90 max before you see throttling. Dell has done it in the past dono if they have done it now.

The highest temp Ive read on my 5870 with GPUz is 86 C. Though I think GPUz might be inaccurate because it always says my fan is at 30%, even when it is at full speed, and it also shows that m fan is spinning at 1 RPM when it is spinning at a normal speed. GPUz has some bugs that need fixin and I think its not as accurate as it should be.

The 5870's pretty "cool" when gaming. I played COD for about and hour and a half yesterday and my temps were around 64c

Yeah I haven't had any problems, but if I click max it shows 91 for one of the cards, not sure what I was doing to warrant such a high temperature.

Mine hovers at the high 70s and low 80s while gaming (that is if GPUz is accurate).

After running Furmark for a while my primary card got up to 93c and no throttling occured. They are rated to sustain higher temps before throttling. During heavy gaming load, I normally get 65-70c. I keep the back of the laptop raised all the time.
