WOW pretty high MAX temps you got there. What are the specs for your notebook?

If your game you could definitely benefit from doing some of the cooling mods as posted on this website.
Swapping out thermal pads and applying new thermal paste on the CPU and GPU dies. Cheers.

Question when did you get your system and when is the last time you clean your laptop.

I had High 90c close to 100c. Every 4-5 Months I clean out my laptop Meaning I take the top off and clean the gpus. and the temps drop down to 70 to 80c and every other weeks can of air.

    My system is:

Alienware M17x R2 Space Black, Intel Core i7 Q720 1.6/3.2 turbo, 6gb DDR3 RAM, 1 Gb ATI Radeon Mobility HD5870 Crossfirex, 2 disk SATA 500GB each... Not home rigth now so don't remember other things....

My treasure came to me 2 - 3 months ago. It is performing OK, but not outstanding (as should be for the price). I blame the environment's temperatures and humidity (I live in Dominican Republic, that's very tropical ambient and really hot) and going to buy a cooler after reading this temps (I had Coretemp but that only support my CPUs, in here i found that program that let me see my GPU temps).

I've never open it be4 (it's a virgin) and don't know if I can change the thermal paste because i'm afraid of breaking some of the flexes and delicate cables. I can try the can of air clean with the rigth tutorial i think, if it isn't very complicate...

I'm buying rigth now the Zelman cooler, as from what i read that's one of the best laptop coolers out there and fit my M17x.

I'll try some benchmarks, i haven't since i'm new to this forum, but i'll paste resulst if they r chippy ones.

Some other thing I can do? I really think that it's going to melt if it continues, because i know that when i'm playing Dragon Age (4x all settings Ultra) it gets hotter...

I'll try some benchmarks, i haven't since i'm new to this forum, but i'll paste resulst if they r chippy ones

My highest temp after running furmark for 10 mins are
    GPU Temp. #1 - 67.5
    GPU Temp. #2 - 85
    GPU Temp. #3 - 74

I believe that 1 is for the core, 2 is for the memory and 3 for something else. :p

rvargasp, your temps look like they are spiking rather high. Due to your tropical location a cooler is a smart idea. Higher temperatures shorten life and reduce effectiveness of paste. Once the paste bakes the GPU will be ruined as heat will no longer transfer via spent paste.

Stock cooling on a card should have it operating (under load in 3-D) in the (celcius) 70 range, 80s are tolerable, 90s are hot, 100s - your card is on death row.
