Yeah so I want to get GPU-z up and running so I can watch it while I run
3dmark11 because that keeps listing my 7970m's clocks at 350/150. But whenever I start up GPU-z (the 2 versions that support the 7970m) it crashes right after give Win7 permission to run it.

It says, "GPU-z has stopped working...searching for a solution".

Here is what I have tried...disabled my anti-virus (avira), right clicked gpu-z and "run as administrator", downloaded some other version of GPU-z which some guy claimed would just give a warning instead of crashing (didnt work). Like I said, this happens with 6.2 on back to like 5.9 or something.

Anybody else having this problem? Or know of a solution?
One person on the GPU-z forum suggested it was the OpenCL driver which was the problem...he claimed it was the intel driver? What is an OpenCL driver and how/should I update it? Or is that BS?

It doesn't work when using the integrated graphics. Press Fn+F7 to only use the 7970M.

Um...I am running the 7970m right now, not the intergrated graphics card. Unless you mean integrated graphics need to disabled?

I'm not using Enduro (w/ iGPU), but instead only the 7970M. Yet GPU-Z crashes, no matter what I try..

Same problem here. Was just trying to run this again yesterday and 5.9/6.0/6.1/6.2 all crash immediately on my m17xr4/7970m(FnF7).

Google searches led me to hope that 5.9 would work as I found people saying that this started with the 6.x series but after seeing 5.9 do the exact same thing, I gave up.

it was doing that for me too but then randomly stopped.... and lists 7970m as -1 core clock and -1 mem clock....

When I clean installed it only had me downloading the 7970m drivers, but for some reason when I FN+F7 it tells me that I dont have AMD drivers installed.... but weirdly Im getting about 24 fps on metro 2033 when maxed out (AAA AFx4) which means I am running it...

Edit: now when I did it it started working... very weird.... also gpuz started to act up then I started it again and it worked.... wow

Yeah, I made no progress on this front...perhaps when the WHQL drivers are released? But I dont know why not everyone is getting the error...

I got the same error. I was only using GPU-Z to monitor my temps, so I just use MSI Afterburner to monitor them now.

MSI unfortunately from what I see monitors 1 gpu core while GPUz monitored 3.

Guys, I know its off topic but perhaps one of you know: Im used to using Trixx on my old 6970m where I could change the behavior of my fan. now on Afterburner I cant seem to controll it at all and it bothers me that it kicks in so late. Is there anyway I can control that gpu and cpu fan (my cpu is OCed) on Afterburner or on anything at all?

But On toopic, Try reloading GPUz by clicking right clicking the icon and choosing "run as administrator" and doing it a few times after boot up if it does not work right away..... that seemed to fix my problem
Now Im having the same issue with HWinfo64 but it seems to fix itself.
