I doubt it, personally. But whenever I use GPU-Z to check temps on my GPU ( GTX 580M ), the temp readings start slowly climbing up, Eg. I open up GPU-Z and it shows my GPU temp at 29C. After about 2 minutes of idle watch my temp now shows 40C.

And the fan speed is always showing at 100%. Seems like GPU-Z isn't working correctly, or is it perhaps the censors that are bad?

I played SWTOR ( Everything set to it's highest setting, except shadows Off ) for about 4 hours straight, never once did I hear the fan speed up or did I run into the dreaded GPU throttle. I have the back propped up and my room is like ice.

    Specs: M17x | I7 2670QM | 8GB 1333 DDR3 | GTX 580M | 256GB SSD

When I get off of work I will update with pics, and current drivers on the GPU.

Use something like HwInfo that correctly reads the EC (Embedded Controller).
Don't count on GPU-Z, especially for fan speeds.

Thanks for the tip. Downloaded Hwinfo and ran it, I had ULPS activated so I had to get the card under load before it would detect it, but once it did the temp readings were alot better. Although it is still showing fan speed at 100%. No worries though, I know for sure the fan isn't at 100%.
