I hooked my laptop up a Samsung 23" and noticed when I was playing with the video resolution that is was now showing over 2GB of video memory, as Long as I can remeber it had been always showing just over 1GB.

Was there a steam/GTA IV update that I didn't notice, or this old news?

Yeah, but it's not entirely correct. Video memory is mirrored, so it should only show 1GB of available memory. It will let you run it clear up to 2GB of memory though for some reason. At this point streets, objects, and buildings start disappearing, etc.

Ive tried the game with Dells 10.8 and had 1gb. Then tested it with i think 10.9 or 10.10 and had 2 gb.
