    I have Alienware 17 2013 model with GTX 780. So can we run GTA V maxed out ?

    No. My Area 51 maxed out in a sad resolution of 1920x1200 cannot even keep 60FPS.

    you can probably max it out but drop to 30fps. the game does have an internal frame buffer so you can set the internal render to render at a lower resolution then it'll upscale to 1080p.

    even if you upgrade to a 980M you might only get to run at high settings and even render at a lower internal resolution to get 60fps.

    i personally would just max it out and play at 30fps...it is still quite playable.

    I did max out but after that I am getting 10-15FPS.

    i got this game before the 980m upgrade and i capped the following vid with a 780m.

    Not sure why I don't get 30 FPS :(

    Did you try the settings in the video?

    EDIT: your laptop is nearly the same as mine though I did change the screen and GPU. But my video should be helpful.

    You used mod vbios and overclocked your Gtx780m. Maybe that's his problem. No overclock.
