    Hi,
i had to make a clean installation of win 7 and now i can't install a working driver for the gtx 260m.
After the installation of win 7, i used the driver from the dell website but i started experiencing crashes and freezes of the video card, so i decided to go for the one i used before the format which was the 314.22.

I've tried to install the 314.22 but it won't work, the laptop always working with the 9400 card.
I know that the 260m works fine and that it is detectable (checked with the GPU-Z).

I've tried several other drivers using clean installation of the drivers but with the same results, i don't want to go back to the official dell driver because im afraid that it'll damage the hardware.

Any suggestions or ideas, maybe something in the bios.

    tnx!

I'm fairly sure that the official driver won't fry anything, but don't quote me on that. ;) I'd try using the official driver. Not the best solution, but it will probably get up up and running again.

latest driver you can install to have switchable graphics enabled is 258.96, anything newer will only run on 9400M / 260M... depends on you bios setting.

You can change the BIOS setting to run only on the 260m. As maxslo states, anything above that driver will only work this way. The switchable GFX will stop working.

Also anything above 300 drivers will require modding INF to be able to install as far as i know.
