tried to update to the 322.18 driver and it actually turns out that its crap!
the last driver i use was 296.10 (old i know, but worked fine), after getting the new patch of War Thunder i decided to update..
now i dont want to get back to the 296.10 but i dont know what version woks best with the GTX 260m.

so what version do you suggest?

come on ppl, nobody is using the gtx260m? ive installed two drivers already the 320.18 and 314.22 and non of them work (cant use the integrated graphics, wont switch to the 260m from the 9400).

Switchable graphics setups do have more trouble updating, since it's not a popular setup you will have to keep searching, could try ones from laptopvideo2go.com.

Have you tried asking over in the R1/R2 owners lounge? I can say that from 3xx onwards NV dropped a technology called Hybrid SLi. This allowed a machine with an NV iGPU to 'team' with an NV dGPU. Might be relevant?

Since Intel cornered the market by including the iGPU on CPU die no manufacturers are using anything else now so they gave up on it.

The laptopvideo2go ones should work fine with your PC, we recommend using the DELL ones for stability but some games may require newer drivers. For those cases you will probably need the ones on that site.

Didnt even thought about that, ill check the dropping Hybrid SLi thing and ill pay a visit to the R1/R2 lounge.

    Tnx!

I know that you represent Dell, but when the "latest" driver for the R1 is 257.38, recommending it is a joke.

Thanks though for the advice for the laptopvideo2go ill check it out and try to find something that wont wreck my card, i love my R1 even with the single 260m its a beast for its age, and considering the fact that im a student for my bachelors degree i cant afford a newer system at this time.

My point from the last line is that its a shame that big companies neglect their costumers with older systems, and im a loyal one, this is my 3rd alien system.

Tnx again for the laptopvideo2go advice.

To be fair to Luis, mobile drivers are not as generic as the desktop ones. Laptop OEM's do some tricky stuff to get the most out of their machines. That is why there is a disclaimer on the NV site stating that you should stick with your OEM's driver for best compatibility. That old driver will be the last one (probably) that supports the hardware based Hybrid SLi.

The basic recommendation for a fresh install is to start with the dell one and test - THEN upgrade to a later one.

I use LV2go a lot, just take your time reading as you MUST get the separate download (manual save) of the corresponding .INF file for them to work ;)

    Good luck.
