Ok so I am trying to make a step-by-step guide for people to flash their GTX 580M with the rom that has a higher voltage on the M17x R3 because I know from personal experience it can get a little confusing, but the results are ALWAYS worth-it.

So what i need help on is:
    - when i ask nvflash to list devices its out put to the command is:
NVIDIA display adapters present in system:
    No NVIDIA display adapters found

So my question is how can I make nvflash see the GTX 580M? Any ideas would be awesome! my final goal and aspiration of this thread is to make a step-by-step guide , as i said above, that is dummy proof and that anyone can do. Any help and input is greatly appreciated, and remember no idea or thought is ever stupid, it just might be the key I'm looking for.

LETS UNLOCK THE FULL POTENTIAL OF THIS BEAST!!!!

Use the latest nvflash DOS version, boot from a USB thumb drive which is DOS bootable and it'll see the card.

Used NVflash 5.9.31 on a bootable USB and still got the same result as before.
NVIDIA display adapters present in system:
    No NVIDIA display adapters found

    Here's a little tutorial

    forget about usb dos crap

    this only works
    Windows 7 x64 bit only

nvflash 5.100.0.1 only works within windows itself will not work in msdos bootup
    download link

Download NVFlash 5.95.0.1 for Windows | techPowerUp

    (1) download nvflash v5.100.0.1
boot in win 7 and just before you load the windows logo press F8 to get into the startup screen.

In there you must select disable driver signature and then it should boot in windows

    (2) load command prompt by start / all programs / accessories / command prompt

    (3) extract the nvflash file you download into the c drive folder name nvflash - you should have 3 files in there
    (1)nvflash.exe
    (2)nvflash32.sys
    (3)nvflash64.sys
(3a) also in that folder nvflash on the c drive you should have your modified bios (that you wish to flash) for eg called **.rom

    (4) back in command prompt direct yourself to that c drive folder nvflash by cd.. cd.. then cd nvflash
When you do a dir you should see all your files there ready to go.

    (5) As i was running DELL SLI 580M in my m18x they are maked as number 0 and number 1 for the M17X this would be marked as 0

To check run the command prompt with admin permission get to the nvflash folder and type nvflash --list (this will display your card number and details)

    (6) BACKUP YOUR ORIGINAL BIOS FIRST

i did it like this for both in command prompt type
nvflash -b backup0.rom (for the first card)
nvflash -b backup1.rom (for the second card)

M17X would be just (nvflash -b backup0.rom (for the first card)

    (7) to flash just type the following

for the first card in command prompt
nvflash -i0 -5 -6 ***.rom (*** means your file name you want to flash.rom)

A few messeges will come up are you sure etc type y and y all done

reboot uninstall drivers reboot install drivers again and thats it.

    enjoy thanks

Sorry just saw your original post/question

Must disable signature driver upon windows boot (pressing F8)
run command prompt with admin permission
    type nvflash --list

I don't get it. You flashed the card when I helped you with it yesterday. How did it stop working?
