Just got a new m18x r3 delivered yesterday and was installing some games off Steam to give it a bit of a workout. But I'm really surprised how stuttering games are (and not particularly intensive games - like Back To The Future and Railworks 3). I was wondering if the graphics card isn't set up properly, and it's relying on the processor for the graphics. Anyone know if there's something simple I'm doing wrong here?

It's the i7-2860QM with 8GB of RAM if that helps. Thanks in advance.

Pretty sure you're in the wrong section.

Wrong section, but here's a thing about nvidia cards and any i3-5-7 systems.

There's an integrated chip and a dedicated gpu. You have to whitelist games to run off the nvidia gpu instead of the default integrated.

Oops it is actually an M17x, I just can't type. Thanks for the replies, found what you mean in the nvidia control panel.
