I've seen some for sale on Ebay - is this the only place? Or are there other suppliers?

    Thanks.

    I got mine from:
    http://www.nexoc.de/de/
They are in Germany, but they ship to UK. 980m works perfect, so I can not comment on the aftersales service/warranty. Price was the same as Eurocom and all the others at the time, but there was no import charge.

Got mine from eBay, from Woodzstack (who posts here and on Techinferno). Cheaper than Eurocom/Amazon and very fast replies to any questions I had. Shipped really really fast too. He lives in Canada and I am in Dubai. He sent it as a gift, that way I didn't have to pay for customs...

Thanks for the tips - those GTX 980m cards are not cheap! I'm going to try replacing my 780M with another 780M first (am getting black screens, and have tried everything everything, looks like card failure). If that fixes the problem I'll upgrade to a 980M.

You can email them for a qoute:
    http://gaming.nexoc.de/en/contact.html

They do not advertise the 980m on it's own. That's how I got mine.

just don't get it from places like hidevolution as many who got their cards from them have had issues with some only lasting a few months. those who have gotten from @woodzstack have been low to none on serious issues.

My number 1 issue is people forgetting to tell me what laptop they have. My second issue I get, is people using their own system bios from 2-3 years ago, because its unlocked and they do not want to update it etc.. and it does not see new cards like the 900 series.
Then, people physically overtightening the the 4 screws causes physical damage on the GPU. I received my first DOA a few weeks ago, being honest here, no idea what happened. They were using AW18 and following usual instructions. One card died, then the 2nd. They were using the AW18 and the 358.91 drivers. We attempted to reproduce the issue. We now have no AW18's working because that driver also can fry the motherboard. Multiple AW18's too.

SOOOOO... no issues to report all year. Over 1,000 680M/780M/970M/980M sold myself personally from various vendors. I used to buy from HIDevolution and Sager directly, myself, before I was a reseller, so no harm there-Also until I started getting issues, and saw a pattern. They were selling me the ones they pulled from laptops already built, and it showed on the connectors of the videocard. Anything to save a buck. Also - ASIC was always low 60's to mid 60's%. I sell 70+% sometimes, as you've seen even as high as 85% which I WILL NEVER PROMISE OR SELL FOR MORE, so stop asking you people ! Now don't get me wrong, its okay to test a card, but it shows when a card has been sitting in a laptop or has a heatsink on it for months at a time... the imprint is much more. So, i do not do this either, and also why I don't test hundreds of cards at a time and mark them by ASIC quality either.
Loved both company's when I did do business with them, anyways, but they charge too much, and the service was not what I needed. They didn't know the solutions I needed, to be able to help others. Some other vendors don't find out

I sell world wide anyways, I have 1/4 of my customers in Russia,Poland, Czech, or Ukraine another 1/4 in the Europe, UK or Australia, and like half of the rest in the USA/Canada.

I bought mine from www.nexoc.de, which only took a couple of days to ship from Germany. It was ordered before I saw the reply on this thread from Woodstack, otherwise I would have contacted him for a quote.

I tried fitting the card yesterday, but the screw size is different than the previous GTX 780M, and the card didn't come with any screws, so am trying to source some. Any ideas where I could find the correct size?

Yeah screws are different... I learned that the hard way after placing the heatsink on the gpu. I had to remove it, reapply thermal paste and then, luckily, Woodzstack had included the new screws with the GPU so I was able to use those.
Sorry though, can't help you with finding the correct ones... Maybe Woodzstack here has some suggestions and can help with that

I did the same - applied the thermal paste and then had to remove it all. Regretting not buying an "upgrade kit" instead of just the GPU.
