Has anyone tried the new 320.00 Beta Driver yet? Anything worth it, that you have seen for the 680m?

I got a small increase in 3dmark11, about 150 points , I also noticed about 5 frames more in tomb raider. I know for sure it was 5 because I was testing my fps earlier in that game during one scene. That's all I have tested so far

Still able to run a solid 915/2200 OC for Tomb Raider on those drivers? or do they still need a little work?

In tomb raider I run my clocks at +300 core and +600 mem, no issues for me

I was hoping they bad some improvements for crysis 3 , high overclocks make the game run worse giving me gpu spikes, I will still test these new drivers to see if it helped at all

I actually get the GPU spikes on Borderlands 2. Not so much on Crysis 3. I'm still running stock voltage though. I OV'ed to 1.050 the other day but I don't think I am truely understanding the OC - OV yet. I couldn't get much out of it. only stable bench I could run was 1000/2250.

wow, for that voltage you should hit well over 1000 on the core.

That is what I thought. I feel like I'm doing something wrong, or thought it may have been a driver problem. at 915/2250 I score P7390 and OV'ed 1000/2250 I score 7590. I left that the risk of high voltage on my card wasnt worth the 3 FPS gain I was getting. Even OV I could not get a temp over 67C I felt like something was holding my computer back from actually getting passed this 1000 on the core. Is there a relationship between the core and mem? Like should the mem stay a specific range above or below the core? Say, the mem should be x2.5 over the Core?

no there is no specific range for the core and mem. but the rule is always oc the core to its max first, then start with the mem next. Something is def holding your gpu back. Have you enabled prefer high performance in the nvidia control panel under 3d settings? Are you monitoring your core and mem clock speeds during benchmarks? Also check the gpu usage, during a big benchmark like 3dmark or heaven 4.0, gpu usage should always be at 99% Also make sure your cpu isnt getting too hot and throttling.

Yes, everything is set to high performance. I can only monitor my clock speeds in game with MSI, how are you able to get an on screen monitor for 3dmark? After the test I can see that it stayed at 99% and the clocks never adjusted. I may change my approach on it though. I have been under the impression that the mem was supposed to be around 2.4-2.5 times the core. So, essentially, I could get 1100/1800. My issue, isnt that the clocks flucuate while benching they stay stable in that aspect. My driver will just crash.

In that case, remember that not every gpu is created equal. Some can OC high, some can barely OC. Some gpus also require more voltage to be stable. Its all luck. I would do a clean install of the new drivers and try overclocking again and see what results you get.

I still wasn't able to get much out of it even after clocking the core first and then the mem. I get this GPU usage bounce from 99% down to 80% and back throughout a benchmark. There seems to be somthing holding my GPU back or I just simply have a dud for a GPU.

Though I did try it with igpu turned off and still had this same thing happen. It seems I can't get this maching over 67C even at 1.050v Which, with whatever is keeping it that cool even on hours of gaming must also be keeping me from pushing this card any further.

I can run all my games maxed now anyway (except Crysis 3) I just wanted to see how far I could push it. I'm currently buying the hardware for my desktop and sending them back to the states when I get back from my deployment. There is where I will be able to make many adjustments with out being limited by some fail safe.

Not by any means am I upset that I can't OC my GPU that far, or go over 67C. To me, I find that to be a very solid, well built and stable machine. I had my doubts about purchasing an Alienware in the beggining, but this machine has totally pulled it's weight and I'm very impressed with it.

A comment on the new driver, sense that is what this thread was about. :p It runs great, I also, like HaloGod2012, saw about a 5-7 FPS gain in Tomb Raider. Also, another 7-9 FPS gain on Bioshock.

Almost sounds like your IGPU is kicking in to take over the graphics :)
As for the "not all GPU's are not created equal"...this is a fact.

You CAN however check the quality of your card to see your OC potential.
Download GPU-Z and once installed, launch the program, right click the top left corner and click on:" Read ASIC quality".

Anything above 80% is good, if you get a number like 71% that would explain why you can't OC further...

Use hwinfo to see what gpu is being forced to work and to what extend.
You would see the clocks going up and also the voltage.

I'm getting freeze ups with this driver and have to do a hard reboot to fix it. I seldom have driver issues and suspect it may be a Firefox issue but going back to 314.22 for now. Wonder if anyone else has this problem?

Anyone else getting amazing frame rates in Tomb Radar on the new 320.14 drivers?

I'm averaging 70+ on the benchmark utility, stock clocks and optimized settings. They seem to really be working hard on these drivers. Sense these new generation of games came out, I think it's been a battle for them.

Both the 320 and the 320.14 cause my machine to randomly lock up just in firefox. Roll back to 314.22 and it's fine. Only the power button responds :(. Anyone else seeing this?

To fix this go to options and disable hardware acceleration, Mozilla is aware of the problem.

I was getting crashes as well randomly, definitely not only Firefox as I don't use it and my crashes were just in random apps or even just the desktop. This was on 320.00. It seems they haven't fixed that yet.

Thanks, nice to know I'm not alone ;).

I spend most of my time in FF so thought it might be that but I also have had it happen just at the desktop. Leave the machine and come back to a lockup. I do notice that the mouse starts to get 'jittery' just before it stops altogether - lets hope the next WHQL fixes it.

@J95, thanks, I tried that but still happened about 20 mins after installing the latest driver :(

Yeah, I was reading that, also the guy that thinks it's interrupt related sounds like he's right. First the mouse stops, then a second or so later the keyboard, so it appears to have hung but tapping the power button gives a clean shutdown

That's to bad you are getting such bad luck with these latest drivers. I have been getting great results. Although my card is fairly weak for being a 680. I'm excited to get my hands on the 670 desktop model in a month :D

I should have re worded that. It is a very powerfull GPU and havent had problems with any of the drivers. It has a fairly weak ability to OC. I'm under the impression the MickyD has a significant OC on his 675.

@MickyD: Have you tried the drivers on stock clocks?

You got me - not significant I don't think as this one breaks down around 730 (620 stock) usually running +100 or so depending on the game but this happens from boot without OC or even going into a game :(

Edit, just checked and the machine is in 2D mode @75mhz when it happens (or a switch up is attempting to happen - can't tell)
