    Hi Guys,
I was notified of this update recently by GeForce Experience for 332.21 drivers, then I noticed that my
currently installed driver is called "GeForce Game Ready Driver",even though it seems to be 331.65.
Is there any difference between the two besides the versions? Sorry this is the first time I'm using Nvidia GPU,hence the noob question.

Just update, its fine. Not sure why they do that, someone else might know. usually best to keep up to date with those drivers.

Looks like it might be because they did a lot of optimisation for that particular build.

I get the same message as OP when launching Battlefield 4. I was under the impression that with Alienware laptops, we should wait for dell to release the update, and not to update from other sources. Is this correct? as I would have thought Dell would adjust it for optimization.

Thanks for the feedback guys,in a sense DaveJaVu is justified in his precaution as my previous rig was an R3 running AMD7970m card.
Using WHQL drivers from AMD screwed up the brightness functions(Fn+F3/F4 I think...)among other issues,& the only the driver that works properly are the ones provided by Dell.
In any case,I have installed the 332.21 driver & ran some simple 3D mark vantage tests & gaming.Arkham City Origins doesn't show any framerate difference, benchmarks scores are almost exactly the same, except if you look closely the GPU scores for 332.21 is actually lower than 331.65.
I'm gonna continue use this driver for a while to see if it is stable.

Remember these are Nvidia drivers which have been pretty good bar the odd anomaly. Just keep up to date with the latest drivers for latest game fixes. Unless you notive a huge drop in benchmarking I wouldn't worry.

    Hi dude :)

Er, 'odd anomaly'? The last 7 months have been a nightmare and only the last two releases are stable (for the most part) since 314.22! http://forum.notebookreview.com/alienware/721878-nvidia-320-18-driver-warning.html

Performance increases are not happening except for the latest cards, just stabilising older stuff right now.

Edit: Thought I need to balance that though. GForce Experience is very good IMO. Game profile updates, driver tracking, optimal settings to base off, all work fine for me. Along with shadowplay (and you can get it to work on a laptop) it's a more consumer friendly product :D

I Agree with Micky, i have had a few friends have a torrid time after updating.

The safest approach is to wait out sometime, and watch for any warnings before you upgrade. It doesn't hurt to have a conservative approach.

That would be quite a wait I believe. Dell rarely update the video drivers unless a problem is identified. They need a know driver for warranty support. Putting later drivers up would leave them having to support them when they want a known good configuration. 'Are you using our drivers?' is a first question...

Thanks, I saw this as well. I think there might have been some problem. The last time I looked they only linked from the new AW17 but the older models are on the supported list :)

I revise my old observation, a few previous drivers have had SERIOUS issues (burning cards out) but I've been happy to be the guinea pig for them :) and nothing particular has happened to my card as of yet. Hopefully the newer drivers will be a bit more reliable.

Switched back to Dell 331.65 drivers as I noticed some framerate drops & slight stuttering in Arkham City Origins & Prototype 2.
No harm continuing using Dell drivers since real world performance is more stable(in my case).
I do understand that Dell update their video drivers once in a blue moon, but as long as gaming is stable & performance increase from new drivers is not very significant,I'm happy to stay with the Dell drivers.
I guess there is a reason they called it "Game Ready Drivers". :)
