About say, 1 hour - 3 hours of gaming, how hot will it usually got? Just making sure/comparing to mine. Testing new drivers and temperatures. After about an hour and a half of TF2 running in sli mode, 1 gpu was about 210F and the other about 190F.

Also please list the game you were playing.

How hot should my NVIDIA GPU be? | ZDNet

Stock cooling on a card should have it operating (under load in 3-D) in the (celcius) 70 range, 80s are tolerable, 90s are hot, 100s - your card is on death row. Would suggest you back up your important data on a regular basis.

thats pretty hot , right now theres 30C (86f) ambient temperature and it stays at 60c - 62c (140f - 143f ) in most games (bad company multiplayer , alien swarm , mass effect 2 , left 4 dead 2 ) with fans at full blast (in winter they are at medium ) and in games like metro 2033 , crysis warhead and portal y goes up to 67c - 70c (152f -158f) using dell's latest beta btw

210 is about 99 degrees celcius. That is a lot for the system in question. It makes me think one of the following is happening:

    - Ambient air temperatures in above 40 degrees celcius
    - Defect of one of the fans
    - Heatsink not properly attached
    - Thermal paste non-existent and/or damaged while(if) you took apart your PC.

Try to see which one could apply to you and if the fan defect is the most probable then have Dell replace it.

Is very important to mention the room temperature at which u took the measurements… gives everyone a better idea what the real temperature is.
As Joebarchuck said 98C/210F for a GPU is too much. Most likely u need to clean up the fans/vents/heatsinks...

GPU 1 hits about 65C max and GPU 2 hits 70C. My CPU hits about 65C. These temps are OC'd

Propping up the back edge will lower your temps noticeably.

While gaming for an hour, my M17X gets fairly hot 80-90c playing crysis and LFD. I assumed that this is normal because I usually have cooler, and xbox reciever plugged into USB which generate added heat even though I turn off AlienFX during gaming. However, my gpu's show a difference of about 7-10 degree difference between each other while room temp is at 78-80f, is this normal? Also, I have hit 100c in multi gpu furmark on my primary gpu while the other stayed at around 70-80c at 80 degrees room temp, is this normal? I have also noticed that my secondary gpu while monitored in gpu-z show a bit of inactivity while idle, is this normal as well? I do keep my M17X on a cheap cooler (Targus) so I assumed that my lappy should stay cool under these conditions. Advice anyone?

Can anyone inform me of what I should do if I am hitting 10 degree differences with my dual gpu setup as in primary gpu sits idle at 49-50c while secondary sits at 39-40c?
I don't know if I should call Dell/Alienware to have them replace my gpu's or just stick with them because they still play games alright plus I have only had my system for a few weeks.
