Aws im newbie @ benching , neways good luck with it bro . Im reverting back to the 10.5s until this is fixed .
-
I just installed the official 10.7 from the amd website using the workaround=true and clearing everything with driversweeper, install went smooth and flickering seems to be gone in every game i have tested (mw2 suffered horribly and now seems to be fine), however i have noticed fps drop in battlefield bad company 2 as well, if anyone has a solution please keep me updated
-
Thanks. -
Mine has the same problem with sleep, screen turn off. It requires hard boot.
I have disabled sleep and screen off and so far no problems but I think I will revert back until fixed. -
-
-
The betas are also newer than the official release.Just make sure you clear out previous drivers thoroughly
before installing. These are the best so far for me. -
Edit :-
-
-
Yea i just checked same issue here, if computer sleeps i need to hard reboot
-
-
sleep/wake issue is fixed for me, thats for sure..
-
Upon further examination it seems like the computer is not even entering sleep mode, usually with unsupported drivers the problem is the laptop is unable to come out of sleep, that along with the bfc2 dramatic framerate drop makes these 10.7's a dud, they fixed the flickering and managed to ruin other things. I guess i will be forced to restore back to the dell drivers once again..
-
-
Since both 10.6 n 10.7 have the sleep bug on mine. The only ones that do good are the dells drivers. -
Either with sleep or simply when the screen is off, I can confirm it halts.
-
-
And this is why I think I will wait for new nVidia GPUs in M17x - sorry but when I read this thread I know ATI/AMD did not improve over the last 5 years when it comes down to drivers.
-
i also noticed my temps under full load reduce which is nice to see, unfortunately everything else is broken
-
-
-
How long does the WHQL driver usually take compared to the beta/official release?
Also who makes the "certification"? ATI, Microsoft? -
It's unfortunate that some people are having problems with 10.7. Regardless, I'm sure there are many people out there that have benefited from this as well. Any problems that existed before are now gone for me.
-
So far this driver works fine for me.I booted on battery fine and I was able to put the machine to sleep and wake it with no issue.
-
-
-
Remember that it also seems a lot of people that have the problems do because they probably have some conflict in between the driver that was installed prior to them installing the 10.7 version.
-
-
I made sure i did a totally clean install of the new driver and have had none of the problems mentioned in this thread. BFBC2 performance is about where it should be, flickering is mostly gone, no bad wakeups/lockups/bsod's on boot.

listen guys whatever i state here is fact. I have the new system with 5870 CF.
Dell drivers ..worked in sleep mode, but problems with newest flash player 10.1
10.6 drivers.. sleep problems , had to hard shutdown, but worked with flash payer 10.1
10.7 beta .. sleep works just like the dell drivers and flash player 10.1 works too.
10.7 official 10.7 drivers..sleep works just like the dell drivers and flash player 10.1 works too.
These are the best all around drivers i have tested to date.
Previous drivers must be cleaned out from registry, c:\ , then run driver cleaner. also let it fully reboot twice after installation. I have a method that
always works for me . Currently I'm running the official 10.7's and everythings peachy.. -
-
Guys I have installed 10.7 and BFBC run great, just install the profil update for 10.7 and the FPS go from 30 to 80....
-
Should we start a thread to help us troubleshoot and try to pinpoint what could make one system install successfully and the other one not. -

EVERY game works fine for me and Bad Company 2 performance hasn't dropped either. Those of you that are seeing problems probably ran the installer on top of your old drivers or something else. I'd suggest a complete uninstall + driver sweeper and registry cleaner for good measure. I haven't checked the sleep mode yet but I left my notebook on all night when I was sleeping (I have sleep mode disabled but the screensaver is active) and it resumed just fine. -
Would system bios versions be a possibility in people having various results from 10.7.
-
-
-
Seems like many people are in to much of a hurry.
Oh and BTW, don't boot in safe mode to use driver cleaner -
-
-
Really the best method to make sure the registries are clean is a full format. If you prepare your SSD and have files in one place. A full format with re-installation of everything is at best 2 hours which ends up being much less work and hassle then trying to repair poorly installed drivers...

Well Joker,
I have to say these drivers ROCK.
All previous errors are simply GONE.
Loading time in BFBC2 and Splinter Cell have been reduced significantly.
Thanks Joker and Thanks ATI.
No more hesitant on my purchase of the M17X-R2 with 5870 Xfire.
