    Hi All,

Recently started playing games again on my Laptop, and getting right into it

I was having some problems with the keyboard etc getting really hot, but a full strip down and clean (mainly the vents were clogged up with dust) has sorted this out.

Now my problem is screen stuttering/drops in FPS, I'm playing F1 2010 and like every so often the frame rate slows right down to jittering along, if I pause the game for 10 seconds and then unpause its fine for about a lap or so then the same again? like something is trying to catch up??

Graphics is stock at the moment, but is there a way to get a little more out of it? maybe with a bios flash to up the clock speeds a little (would need a guide for this). seriously thinking of some 6970's though because there are some cool games on the horizon and I'm worried my system wont cope :D

make sure ur drivers are up to date, the latest are the 11.8 I believe.

That and be sure that xfire is enabled, and all your settings are to max.

Like the power settings for battery. Make sure its on high settings on the power options and the Alienware command center.

The R2 apparently has a feature called "Stealth Mode." Make sure that is disabled so your running at 100% performance.

You may consider repasting ur 5870's if its been a while since usage.

Temps are good? If, so and your max temps are not to high you can flash your cards to higher clocks. 5870's OC really really well.

Temps are good @ 61-65 degrees c (GPU), did notice the CPU getting upto 100 on a couple of the cores but 80's on the other 2, so repasted the cpu and all even @78 max

F1 2010, seems to only use 1 of the graphics cards? (left) is that right?

Also used AMD clock tool to run some higher clock speeds, is there a guide to flashing the cards with the clock permanently?
