I used CPU RIGHTMARK to undervolt my CPU (not GPU) in windows with my old Latitude D520 (Core Duo at 2 ghz).
With it and repaste I got 15º C drop at full speed and over 6ºC at idle.
But that software it's not compatible with the Core i7 2º gen. of the R3.
I wonder if anyone knows another software to undervolt the Core i7 of the R3 that works well.![]()

Don't really need to undervolt the i7's. They run perfectly fine with a good repaste. There is no software that can do this.

ThrottleStop:
ThrottleStop - Performance Adjustment Tool for Core 2 / Core i CPUs
Has somebody tried it on the Alienware? -
Yep I use it all the time. But it doesn't have a lot of control over 2nd Gen i7's. If you really want to reduce temps, enabling C7 is a good idea but that can only be done via the Modded A08 bios.
