I got my laptop after 33 days of "hard work". I read that refund is possible after the 3 rd failed attempt to fix the laptop. They tried 8 times for mine. I had no pc for 33 days. After that I finally took it back home reinstalled it put sp1 (win7 64bit) updated everything except for the video cards. I know how to do clean driver updates and trust me nothing works. Tried dells and the funny thing was I got bsod. Tried the ones from the amd site but it either fails or downloads 40kb crap that cant be installed with the "Auto detect". Another thing is that when I try to put drivers it can install them and when the pc is doing the required restart it freezes on the win7 logo and eventually bsods after that. I still have 1,6 years to go from my warranty so I think its possible for eu dell reps to replace my laptop I cant find another way. Tried everything and every possible driver + the 1 month waiting and the 8 changed parts when after 3 they replace the system, and beside that holidays are coming :) !!

Sounds like the video card has died T_T. But I would file a BB claim if they do not exchange the system.

Call customer support or go on their Twitter https://twitter.com/DellCares. Or you can PM one of the Alienware representatives on the forum, they get issues resolved pretty quick, just make sure you follow up follow up follow up.

why not just call the tech support, and just say them u have lost 33 days because of this, and u want a replacement machine..
a refund on an r2.. i dont think they will do it, because the machine is like 3 years old..

pm the alienware dudes from here (l_porras) i tried this, and havent had ANY response whatsoever

Technical support will only try to get laptop repaired, customer service will look into replacement.

I'm sorry I did not reply before, by the date you sent the PM I was on vacation and wasn't able to reply. When I came back and checked I may have skipped it for some reason. I just replied to it.

@OP - Unfortunately I'm not able to service machines in Europe, but... I would recommend you to try to call again to tech support and tell them what the situation is now and that you need it escalated. Be as polite and patient as possible so that the person on the phone is able to help you out.

Also, if that does not work you can also ask for a supervisor and talk to him and ask for a resolution. Replacing the machine is to be considered by him anyway. The thing is that our guidelines and theirs are different (due to specific country laws) therefore I would not be able to tell if you should receive a replacement or refund at this point or not.
