Reinstalled windows 7 using the recovery disk included with my M17xR4
Installed Dell wireless driver (from disk included with my system)
    Installed windows updates
Installed Dell intel HD graphics from website.
Installed catalyst 13.3 beta (while running on Intel integrated graphics.)

Found out I have some issues with far cry 3 that could be from installing catalyst while running on integrated graphics.
Tried fn+f7 to use my 7970m it is no longer working after reinstalling windows.
Read online about OSD and command center.
Installed OSD and command center from disk that came with my system.
Command center updated to newest version from inside the program.

    FN+F7 not working
Thought it might be the bios.
    I have version A11
    downgraded to A08
    Upgraded back to A11

Cannot switch over to the 7970m.

I just want my machine to run on the 7970m...... help?

I reinstalled windows to try and re-do my drivers and maybe get better performance..... now I can run on the 7970m but there are graphical issues that weren't there before.... I want to re-install AMD's Drivers while running on the 7970m any help switching with fn+f7 or just a workaround would be nice thanks.

Additionally my bios doesn't let me disable graphics. From the main tab I can only edit the date and time I cannot go down to where my graphics cards are listed the fields are not selectable....

I know I wrote a lot I hope its not terribly hard to read.

    Hi there,

I have been in the same situation as you for a long time and I finally figured out the answer. You need to go download something called the "Alienware OSD" from Dell's website. Once downloaded, just install that utility and it should be working just fine from then onwards. I hope this helped

This should be the way to do it, what drivers are you using now for the GFX?

I am actually using all the latest drivers from the AMD website. They actually work. I have found an easy way to avoid waiting on Dell Drivers
