    Hi,

I'm having issues with the graphics on my m17x laptop. Im Assuming its an R1 first generation being purchased 2 years back.
    Running:
    Q9000 2.0 ghz
    4gb ram
    geforce9400
    x2 gtx280m

In save power mode (9400) i get this:

In Boost mode (280m) i get this with camera:

In Boost mode (280m) with capture picture and paste to paint, i get:

    My questions are:
Does pic three eliminate monitor damage?
Is it one or both of my 280 cards?
Is there a way i can check them to see which is bad?
    Can i run just one?
    Can i upgrade the 280s?
Or is it even the 280s with the issue?

    edit:
I forgot to mention I've installed different drivers aswell, with no luck.

    Thanks for any help.

    Leo

What are your temperatures like? Are you able to do any gaming? When was the last time fans were cleaned, cards re-pasted, general Alienware up keep?

Temps, not sure where to check, although the top of the keyboard gets pretty darn hot.

Gaming, it is playable but at the expense of very pixaliated/distorted graphics

The fans i blow the dust out with a compressor at low pressure.

Re-pasted? please explain.. something i need to do?

    Thanks!
