Ok when I got my R3 the battery was loose, I searched the forum and other forums and it turns out it is a pretty common problem. The battery would stick out like 3mm or so and whenever its on my lap it would get annoying. Dell already changed my battery and didn't do anything. So here's what I've done, and worked out perfectly! :D

    First you need:

    • Electrical Tape
    • Scissors

    Steps:
    1. Cut 8 pieces of electrical tape (I placed an sd card for a size comparison)
    2. Place 1 tape horizontally on each of the 4 clips or whatever its called circled in red...
    3. Take out the battery
    4. Next place 1 tape vertically on top of the previously placed tapes
    5. Make sure it is properly placed and flat
    6. Lastly put the battery back it, at first it might be a little tight but carefully put a little more pressure
    7. Done! It should be perfectly fitted and not loose or wobbly

You sir are a genius. This was one of the things i hated about my R3. It finally feels like a solid piece! I used painter's tape because I did not have electrical tape, worked like a charm. I ended up having to use quite a bit more tape than you used, I guess it will vary for everyone.

If I had to send my lappy into Dell or have a tech sent out, would I have to undo this?
Would Dell be unhappy about this non-permanent cosmetic mod?
I'll add rep for you tomorrow when my rep limit is reset.
Also, can someone explain this tutorial to me? The pictures are too small for me to clearly see what's going on and I'm not really sure how this works.

I don't really see this mod/fix being a warranty issue but then again, taking a few pieces of tape off before sending it off/having a tech come over isn't really a big deal either.

As I understand it, the fix basically involves you taking 8 pieces of electrical tape and taping 2 pieces over each of the four protrusions on the battery orienting one piece horizontally and the other piece vertically.
