    HD 5870 Screen Blank instead of shutting off

    after the amount of time that i set for the screen to shut off under windows 7's power options passes, the screen goes blank (as if i had a blank screen saver) but never actually shuts off (you can tell it's still illuminated).

    and no, my screen saver is set to ribbons and comes on after 3 minutes.

    anyone else experiencing this? is this just a problem with dell's hd 5870 drivers (i noticed that catalyst 10.5 doesn't work with the 5870, but 10.6 should because AMD forgot to include compatibility with dell's 5870's).
