Hi all
How do I know if an hdd is compatible with the r3? I got the 256GB SSD, so now I have speed, I just need storage.. Haha. Also, where can I buy one?
The machine has been sent from heaven and will arrive tomorrow![]()

Anyone? I really need to know lol

I would think any SATA II or III laptop 2.5" drive would work. I've seen that a lot of people use the Western Digital Scorpio Black line of drives in these, if that helps.
I bought both an SSD and a WD Black 500GB drive that I plan to put in mine in the next day or two. -
Alright, thanks so much.
By the way I noticed you received your alienware a week after you ordered - you're so lucky! I got mine 32 days after ordering haha -
So I just installed my new HDD, but the computer isn't detecting it. What should I do? It's the secondary drive, not the primary
EDIT: nevermind, it seems to recognize it when I press F2 when I boot, however I can't find it in "my computer". It's set up in RAID (my two harddrives), should I use ATA?
EDIT 2: Right now I'm using RAID. Turns out I haven't changed the drive letter yet - but I don't know how. When I right click on it on disk management, it doesn't say "Change drive letters and paths", instead it says Convert to dynamic disk or convert to GPT disk. -
You will first need to format it, then you can assign a drive letter.
HDD compatibility?
