    HDD mSATA config

    On my Aliwnware description says 1024 GB 5400 rpm Hard Drive, 80 GB Solid-State Drive. Looking at My Computer why is the other dirve just 10GB? Im confused...

    The 80GB mSATA ssd is used to speed up your 1TB hard drive... Hence you can only use 10GB of it :p

    how can i disable that? Because im in the process of re installing windows on a SSD and i will just make the HDD as a storage drive.

    The maximum size for the mSATA is 68gb or something like that, so it leaves the rest as as a really small SSD basically. If you don't want to use the mSATA to cache the drive you can just format it and use it as an 80gb SSD if you wish. You can also use your SSD and still cache the HDD so as to keep it accelerated.

    Easiest way is to put the new SSD in the spare slot. Change the boot order and then install windows onto the new drive from a DVD boot.

    The old drive will remain accelerated and you can switch back at any point.

    Once you are happy with your new installation you can wipe down the HDD :)

    Anyone know why my HDD on second bay is not showing on windows after installing the OS in SSD?
