I've been trying to use the HDMI In and thought I'd post some results. First, you can use HDMI in for video and audio, which is a nice bonus. I was able to use it with my desktop just fine.

Second, the video output is always distorted the first time I go into HDMI in mode. There is visible ghosting of the display, the images on my screen are doubled. After unplugging the HDMI cable and plugging it back in, the display works perfectly.

Third, I had to use overscan to use all of the 17" screen in 1920x1080 mode. Not a big deal.

Fourth, after exiting HDMI in mode, I have to put the notebook in standby mode or close the lid to get my display to turn back on, it remains blank which is annoying.

Fifth, the original Dell provided drivers probably work better for HDMI In than the one I downloaded from laptopvideo2go to get past the BSOD issues.
