Hoocked up my M17r3 to my tv last night. I have a samsung LED TV. When connected to tv at 1080 it screen size was larger than the TV would display had an extra inch or so that was beyond the TV. When i went down to the resolution of 1000 it was smaller( had an Inch border of Black) than the screen. Has anyone else had this problem when connecting to a tv??? Is there a setting on TV or the computer that needs to be change that i am missing? Do i need to update my 6990 Driver?

on my TV that are various view modes that will stretch the picture...but the one i use is to use the actual size so i get black bars on either side if the picture is not widescreen 1080

    have you tried this?

There are two settings that are of concern. The first is in the ATI driver. ATI defaults the video card to overscan (no idea why they do this by default). You need to drop the slider to 0% (it's somewhere in the Catalyst control center). The other is the TV itself. If you look in the picture settings in the tv menu, you should see an option to set the video input to 'just scan'. Setting the input to this option ensures the tv will present a 1:1 pixel mapping.

Given these two settings the tv should display the exact resolution and refresh you specify in the video card. The TV is limited to certain VESA resolutions, and if you check in the back of the manual, you can see which resolutions are supported.
