    So, I just picked up a ps3, threw in a ssd, and got some cheap games. I'm just wondering if you can record whatever you're playing with hdmi in. I wonder if it acts like the hdmi in is an extended monitor.

    The signal goes straight to the screen and bypasses the laptop so you cannot record from the hdmi-in port.

    Ah, figured. Weird how power management affects the screen turning off on it's own in that case.
