When I pulled my new m17 out of the box last week the HDMI didn't work. At all. I spoke to a dell tech and he sent a motherboard replacement. The replacement happened yesterday all went well but the HDMI out still doesn't work. I've tried different cables. Same monitor I use to use on my R3 It worked no problem but my new m17 won't even see the monitor it doesn't even detect it. What could the problem be ? All my drivers are installed. Any help would be awesome thanks

That's weird. Have you tried switching graphics card? Fn-F7 on the r3/r4. I don't have it but might be worth a shot

OT How is that RAID and cache working out real world?

So I have tried everything and still no HDMI out. I switched to the nvidia card and the computer sees the external monitor now, but refuses to output to it. Also as far as the cached raid drive goes...I had a raid in my R3 with no cache and yea it was pretty quick but with the cache there's a huge difference. Boot times are quicker, games load quicker, apps load quicker. Everything is quicker. Now I'm sure a dedicated SSD is faster still, but I like the storage of my raid array.

Good info, I was sure it would be good (cache) in real use but I like to hear from real users. Only benchmarks will show a better number with a dedicated SSD

No help in the HDMI out except; does the NV driver show it under 'set up digital audio' when it's plugged in? Strange...

I'm actually not sure if it does show up there. Ill take a look there. At this point im assuming this has got to be a software issue as I've just had the motherboard replaced, and my 770m was replaced yesterday for a 780m
