I just bought Skyrim and I felt that I could get improved performance by upgrading my video drivers from 11.6 to 11.11. I tried doing the in software update but even though it said "Install Successful", the CCC still read that I was using 11.6. I then proceeded to do a full uninstall of the video drivers. Hardware manager -> right click on both video cards -> uninstall then I went to program uninstall, uninstalled all the ATI stuff, then driver sweeper and swept for ATI. Booted in safe mode, ran drive sweeper again then rebooted and tried installing 11.11. Every time I repeat this process the software SAYS its installed successfully, but it never does. It never flashes during installation and changes my resolution to its native 1920x1200 and it doesn't even ask me to reboot. It installs the CCC, sort of. When I log into it its basically just got a few options, nothing relating to my video cards. Something that concerns me is the fact that one of my video cards has a little yellow triangle on it in the device manager:
![]()
Everything was working fine until I uninstalled the drivers. With my specs, I felt I should be able to run Skyrim on High settings with cutting down the AA and AF to 4x and 2x, respectively, but even with that it still wasn't as smooth as I would have expected. I thought updating the video card would help. I have the newer vbios that should allow me to use the AMD updates as opposed to the dell ones only. I don't know which version it is, nor how to get it without having my video cards recognized by CCC.
Can anyone please help me? I can't do anything on my machine without working video drivers and I have no clue why its not allowing me to install them. It says install successful, but clearly its not. I keep repeating the process of wiping the machine clean and trying to reinstall. No dice.

My advise don't go for 11.11 people have problems with them. Install 11.10 or 11.9 performing a clean install. Delete drivers through device manager (checking "delete software"), reboot in safe mode, run DriverSweeper, delete everything AMD related, then run CCleaner clean all AMD related entries. Then reboot in normal mode and install the driver. Should go good

Thanks guys. I got 11.10 working. What do you all think of catalyst ai? I'm trying to optimize my skyrim play but unless I turn catalyst ai to advanced it kind of sucks. I need to try my other games again with ai advanced but in the past I recall standard being better than advanced for everything. I hate to have to switch everytime I play skyrim.
