Not much so far. My frontlines fuel of war game runs much better. It was lagging like crazy with 10.5's. I didn't see any differences in L4D 2 or Dirt 2.

i can't load the Rivatuner settings. The file you have attached is a rtp file. When loading, it ask for a rtd file.

    nvm. I'm a retard.

Looks like 10.6 are excellent for Vantage. I did a very mild 750/1050 OC on the card and slight OC on the CPU and got this:

I've tried to install 10.6 but the installer won't give me the option to install either ccc or the display driver - all it says is hd audio driver and catalyst install manager and some lotro crap. Anyone ran into this issue?

Go into the config folder, edit the installmanager.cfg file and change workaround=true and it will install using the installer.

I uploaded a new zip file called, "RivaTunerAll.zip" in the first post. It has every RivaTuner preset value I have in there. Try importing that.

No it's not good. Okay I updated the OP one more time. Download the zip file again (RivaTunerOC.zip) and this time import the .rtp file into RivaTuner by using the "merge preset" folder, the one that has the + sign. I updated the photo in the first post so you know what it looks like.

You could give it a try and see. Did you install the June 18th Crossfire Profile update? It is supposed to fix the 10.6's poor performance in BF:BC2.

I have 10.5s however I can say this trick worked for me. Both GPU's report overclocked frequencies, and the furmark trick worked perfectly, sans the freezing I had with AMD GPU tool.

Didn't work for me, after I loaded the Rivatuner thing, I got lost trying the next step. And are we supposed to install 10.6 before or after? I tried both, didn't work either time. (Before screwed up my resolution and now I'm reinstalling Dell drivers)

does that profile improve load times for BF:BC2?
because that is really the only issue i have with my graphic cards...

i have downloaded the profiles, but i am not sure how to know if they are loaded upon game launch...

doesn't look like it, the 10.5's are showing their faults more and more for me. Usually new driver releases are during the middle of the month, so if it's going to be fixed anytime soon, we'll know by next week or so. My two favorite games are basicly unplayable on 10.5's and FFXIV which is the real reason for buying this laptop won't even start on 10.5s...

the desktop sitting in the other room with essentially half the power of my laptop plays the games I play *much* better, and it cost 1/3 as much too..

If the problem isn't resolved permenatly and without having to wait for dell drivers I might just return it. Updating drivers is some pretty BASIC stuff in a gaming machine

yup, but my GTS250 desktop runs it perfectly.

the two games I was talking about were NTW and ETW. 7minuite load times per battle, and 2 minite load times from a saved game. But the GTS250 4gb ram single HDD desktop? 9 seconds saved game, 40seconds battle load time. Utterly pathetic.

Talking about it more just makes me more and more angry. How could you release a gaming computer with bugged drivers? That's totally unacceptable that it should never have happened, but its even worse that there hasen't been a fix for a few months now..

honestly, the way dell has handled the problems with the orginal R2 and R1, I don't expect 10.7 will work either. I hope they will, I just have very little convidence that they will. It's supposed to be an easy fix, but if it were so easy you'd think they'd just fix the 10.6's and release them on the website. What will probally happen, is we'll be stuck with OEM drivers from dell that are 1-2 months behind the latest drivers. Which no matter how you look at it, is catasrophic for a gaming computer.

I hope that won't be the case. Just going to keep my fingers crossed and hopefully by Sept. 22nd when the CE of FFXIV is out, all the driver problems have been sorted out by DELL/AMD.

I want to try this, but im not sure if i should do cause i have just a single card . . . the reason is because i see than the windows are not working propertly, i can see a bit of redrawn, its barely noticeable but there it is, also, it happens when i scroll down or up with the mouse wheel or the right side bar . . . isnt happening anymore but it happens . . . could i follow this steps ? Thanks for your great work (By the way, my specs are on the sig)
