    Heya,

I've an M17XR1 and apart from two replaced fans, a screen and the crippling latency it's been grand. But recently the hard drive has been acting up. It seems to have a problem with the majority of game CD/DVDs I own.
When loaded in the DVD drive wil make a skipping/beeping/typical whirring noise often indefinetly, refuses to eject the disc and requires often multiple restarts before it will do so.
Dell have advised I reinstall windows. Since that always fixes everything. But before I do so tomorrow and (probably) have my 4th technician visit the next day, is there any advice ye have here?

    Thanks loads,

    Zeal
